Award Recipients 

In June of 2007, Latino Community Credit Union (LCCU) awarded  scholarships to four high achieving Hispanic students living in North Carolina through the LCCU Scholarship Fund. The recipients are:

• Sebastián Cerdeña (Peruvian), UNC Chapel Hill, entering first year this fall, received $4,000. He wants to be a medical doctor.
• Ignacio Cerdeña (Peruvian), UNC Chapel Hill, entering first year this fall, received $4000. He wants to be a medical doctor or engineer.
• Diana Rodríguez, NC State, entering first year this fall, received $1000. She wants to study psychology and sociology
• Jaime Alberto Zea, UNC Chapel Hill, entering second year this fall, received $1,000. He wants to be a journalist

The four students all reached an exceptional level of academic achievement, are highly involved in their communities, and received outstanding recommendations from their teachers.
