Latino Community Credit Union has received the following designations and recognitions:
State Level:
- 2011 Desjardin Financial Education Award (First Place) in recognition of the adult financial education program – from the North Carolina Credit Union League
- 2011 Desjardin Financial Education Award (First Place) in recognition of the youth financial education initiative – from the North Carolina Credit Union League
- 2011 Louise Herring Award for Philosophy in Action (second place) in recognition of providing exemplary service to the underserved– from the North Carolina Credit Union League
- 2011 Dora Maxwell Award for Social Responsibility (honorable mention) in recognition of the artist collaborative - from the North Carolina Credit Union League.
National level:
- 2011 Credit Union Excellence in Lending Awards for Low to Modest Means from the CUNA Lending Council
- 2011 Credit Union Excellence in Lending Awards for Mortgage Lending from the CUNA Lending Council
- 2011 Desjardin Award (First Place) in recognition of the adult financial education program – from the Credit Union National Association
- 2010 - Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Award, in recognition for LCCU's groundbreaking financial education program
- 2010 - Desjardins Youth Financial Education Award, for the "Culture of Savings" photo and essay contests that encourage the youth to engage in healthy saving habits.
- 2010 - Southern Growth Policies Board Award, in recognition of its efforts to improve economic opportunities and quality of life in North Carolina.
- 2010 - Honorable mention in the Louise Herring Award for Philosophy in Action. LCCU received the recognition for its creation of an advisory board made up of active members of the credit union.

- 2009 - Finalist for the E Pluribus Unum Prize from the Migration Policy Institute recognizing exceptional immigration integration initiatives.
- 2009 - Award for Pioneering Durham’s Reputation for Social Enterprise from the Durham Convention & Visitors Bureau.
- 2009 - Circle of Influence Diversity Award from the Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce for LCCU’s efforts in promoting diversity.
- 2009 - Dora Maxwell Award for Social Responsibility in recognition of LCCU’s financial education movie, Angelica’s Dreams.
- 2007 - Wachovia NEXT Award. The Wachovia NEXT Awards recognize community development financial institutions (CDFIs), or "opportunity finance institutions," that have exceptional track records and extraordinary potential. Read more.

- 2007 - Dora Maxwell Award for Social Responsibility in recognition of LCCU's financial education program. LCCU will now compete for the national award, representing credit unions throughout North Carolina.
2006 - Credit Union Excellence in Lending Award for Consumer Lending for under $250 million in assets from the Credit Union National Association Lending Council.- 2006 - Louise A. - 2000 - Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Award from the Credit Union National Association.
