LCCU receives the U.S. Department of Treasury’s prestigious CDFI award

Latino Community Credit Union (LCCU) will receive $1,000,000 from the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Fund. LCCU is a certified CDFI founded in 2000. LCCU will use the award to increase its capital reserves and support additional branches and loan products.

Latino Credit Union Releases Financial Education for Immigrants DVD

A DVD titled Financial Education for Immigrants is now available from Latino Credit Union. The collection includes PDF copies of A Guide to Develop a Program, the Building a Better Future curriculum and several videos.

May 2008 Graduation of Financial Education Workshop Participants

miguel_fuentes_lccu_graduateOn May 10th, 40 Hispanic adults graduated from Latino Credit Union’s Financial Education workshops. The graduation ceremony took place at the Center for Responsible Lending in Durham. As in the previous year, the graduation coincided with the Annual Member Meeting, in which three incumbent board members were reelected.

Durham Students Visit 'Credit Union Row' During National Youth Credit Union Week

Thirteen students from Rogers-Herr Year Round Middle School gained valuable financial information during The Support Center’s 5th Annual Youth Education and Credit Union tour on April 25th. The Support Center invited students from the business computer technology class to celebrate National Youth Credit Union Week.

Latino Credit Union Introduces Fixed Rate Mortgage Loans

Latino Credit Union (LCCU) introduced a new fixed rate mortgage loan program designed to give members an additional choice of products to suit their needs. Financing is available for up to 90% of the value of the home. Available terms are 15, 20, 25 and 30 years.

With the addition of fixed rate mortgages, Latino credit Union has a fuller portfolio of mortgage products. Members can now choose between fixed rate and adjustable rate mortgages at competitive rates.
