Directo a México

LCCU has a convenient product called "Directo a México," which allows transfers to Mexico for only $5.

With "Directo a México," funds are transferred from your LCCU account, through the Federal Reserve, to the Bank of Mexico, where it is delivered to your beneficiary in Mexico.

To use this service, you need an LCCU savings account. The beneficiary in México also needs a bank account. Bank accounts in Mexico have an assigned number called CLABE (Clave Bancaria Estandarizada) which is necessary to receive wires. If the beneficiary doesn't have an account in Mexico, you can open a Bansefi account for them from any LCCU branch. All you need is the full name, birth date, and address.

Once LCCU wires the funds, they will be available in Mexico the following banking day after 2:30 p.m. Central Time.
