“My name is Luz Stella and I am proud of being a member for over two years.
When I arrived to this country, the credit union opened its door to me and I opened my first account in the US . At the same time, it provided me with a car loan so I could go to work. A year later I had a problem in my country and I needed a personal loan and LCCU again gave me a hand.
In 2004 I was part of the Peer Education program and I talked to a lot of people about the credit union’s services. Concurrently, I became involved as a volunteer in marketing and outreach last year and I traveled with credit union employees throughout the Greensboro area to help them open new accounts. It was a very beautiful experience.
Now I return to my country and I don’t know if I’ll be able to return to the United States, but I’ll tell everybody in my country that in the United States, in North Carolina, there is an institution that helps Latinos and makes them feel important in the United States, without concern for race, language or status. I was always welcomed with warmth and quality. I am proud of belonging to this institution.”
