How to Switch to LCCU?

Use our checklist to gather information you will need about your existing account, such as account number(s), bank routing number and recent statements.  

Below is a quick list to guide you through the process of switching your checking account to LCCU. You may select the links below to view additional information and forms for each step.

Step 1: Open Your New Account at your local branch.  Bring a picture ID, proof of address, previous account information, your $20 tax-deductible membership fee, as well as $10 as a minimum balance for your new account. 
 
Step 2: Switch Direct Deposits and automatic deposits to LCCU using the Direct Deposit Authorization Form and submit to your Human Resources or Payroll office. We strongly suggest that you confirm with your payroll office the effective date of your first Direct Deposit to your LCCU account before changing your automatic payments.
 
Step 3: Change your automatic payments and withdrawals.  There are typically three ways to make automatic payments and withdrawals – using (1) your checking account, (2) your VISA Check Card and/or (3) BillPay Service. 
  1. To switch your automatic payments and withdrawals through your checking account, you can use the Automatic Payment Change Form. Most merchants provide secure websites that allow you to change your automatic payment information online.
  2. To switch automatic payments authorized using your Visa Check Card, use the Visa Check Card Change Form to document all of your current Visa Check Card payments and switch to your LCCU Visa Check Card.
  3. LCCU provides an online BillPay Service through our LatinoDirectoNet website as an alternative to Automatic Payments. Online BillPay is quick, convenient and inexpensive!. Use the BillPay Change Form to assist you with documenting all of your current BillPay payments.
Step 4: Close your old account using the Account Closure Form and send to your old financial institution. Some financial institutions may require additional forms before closing your account.  Confirm all checks have cleared your old checking account, BillPay has been cancelled and reestablished with LCCU, and all automatic payments have been transferred to your new checking account.
